Dear Santa!

Dear Santa,

Please let the Razorbacks break with tradition and get a QUALITY, LEGIT, football coach and not someone up and coming. We should be done with the days of paying some young coach a million dollars to scream “Woo Pig Sooie” in front of fans in hopes that he will make us winners. Right now Santa, Arkansas is a mid-major program at best thanks to that good ole boy system we’ve had in the past.

Now, I can’t ask for a legitimate football coach without offering several names. The first one is obvious, Gus Malzahn. If he wins the Iron Bowl over Alabama that probably won’t happen, but I’d like to keep my fingers crossed that he doesn’t.

Another option is Chip Kelly! That stint in the NFL didn’t work, but he was pretty good as a college coach. With a solid defensive coordinator and good recruiting, the offense would no longer be “Offensive”.

My third pick would be Bob Stoops. I know his sudden exit from Oklahoma left many wondering "why?" I have my own opinion about why he left, but we won’t talk about that. I do like the fact that he’s been in the SEC and beat Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl. All fans know another Razorback loss to Alabama next year will make it a dozen years since we last beat them (not good).

Finally, if we have to have a young coach, I like Scott Frost at UCF. No, he hasn’t won in the SEC! Yes, it’s a long shot, but at least he’ll come with fewer zeroes on the end of his salary than the previous coaches mentioned.

I hope the next coach has a bit of an edge to him. If people dislike him, but he wins, that’s cool with me! I’m keeping my fingers crossed Santa, because I know Christmas wishes can come true.
