Restaurant Woes

I have to be honest. I have zero tolerance when it comes restaurants NOT having the food items in stock that they have on their menus. It literally makes me cringe when I go through the drive through, order something from the menu and get the response of “I’m sorry sir, we are out of that item”.

Recently, I was at a certain national chain where the “specialty” is coffee, but they also serve hot chocolate and some breakfast items. Now, I don’t frequent this place, because I can’t see myself paying a fortune for a cup of coffee/hot chocolate or even breakfast foods; however, I had a taste for a cream cheese Danish which is my favorite. I placed my order only to be told they had run out of cream cheese Danishes. So I asked for a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, and their response was “I’m sorry sir, we don’t have any more of those either." Not wanting to give up, I asked for another breakfast sandwich, and they were out of it as well. By now, I was irate. I was so annoyed that as the kids say, ‘I was about to get lit’. After a few choice curse words expressing my disbelief, I said “well damn, do you even have hot chocolate?” They responded “yes”. I dropped a few more curse words followed by more cursing until I felt like every employee in the place understood my frustration. In fact, without the “choice” words, the conversation basically went this way. “Do you have cups?” They responded “yes sir”. I added, “Do you have a means of pouring some of said hot chocolate into a cup and possibly selling it to me?” Then, as only I can do, I asked if they had a register or credit card machine so that I can pay for my hot chocolate.

This kind of experience at a restaurant or business makes my ass itch. I can’t deal with this stuff at 8 a.m.! If you are a business that sells a product, please keep enough of the product in-house to sell daily. By the way, kudos to the employee at that restaurant who maintained his cool despite the massive curse words I dished out.
