Not that I’m bragging, but my family calls me Chef Mark-ar-dee. With that being said, I’ll admit I know my way around the grill and the kitchen. Since it’s the Thanksgiving holiday, I’ll give you guys a few tips that should let you know if your Thanksgiving turkey is going to be a hit or miss with your family:
1. If you hear prairie dogs barking and running outside when you cut the turkey, it’s probably too dry.
2. If your family puts a humidifier next to the turkey when you take it out of the oven, it’s probably too dry.
3. If a slice of your turkey floats in a glass of water, I’m going out on a limb to say, it’s probably too dry.
There’s always a silver lining somewhere! Take the leftover turkey, which in your case might be the whole thing, and use it in other ways. For starters, you can use it to make turkey salad. No one will notice its dryness when you add condiments to it. Here's another idea! It’s cold so you’ll need something to start a fire in the fireplace. Use the turkey for kindling wood. Who knows? A little slow music and wine might make you a very happy man with the missus later that night.
I’m joking! You aren’t that bad of a cook, or maybe everyone in your family is just wrong. Either way, have a great Thanksgiving with family!
